Who this is for

Parts for machines that touch food.

You design or build equipment for food and drink production: depositors, fillers, mixers, pumps, valves, conveyors or packing machines. Somewhere in that machine are elastomer parts that touch the product. They have to seal, survive cleaning, and come with documents your customer's auditor will accept.

We make those parts against your drawing, in silicone and other elastomers chosen for the job, and supply them with a batch record and the food-contact documents for the compound.

Seal design and groove design go together. We'll review your groove and suggest changes before tooling if they help.

Compliance

Materials and documents.

  • Compounds selected against EC 1935/2004 (as retained in UK law) and, where your market needs it, FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 for repeated-use rubber articles.
  • The compound supplier's declaration and migration test reports, passed on with your parts.
  • Contrasting colours (often blue) so a fragment is visible. Metal-detectable compounds can be quoted on request.
  • A batch record with each delivery, so parts can be traced back to the compound lot.
What we don't claimFood-contact suitability depends on the food, the temperature and the contact time. We'll tell you exactly which conditions the compound's paperwork covers, so you can complete your own assessment.

Questions

What buyers ask us.

Can you make food-grade silicone seals to our drawing?

Yes. We mould seals, gaskets and diaphragms to OEM drawings in compounds chosen for food contact, and supply the documentation for the compound.

Do you supply FDA-compliant silicone parts?

We can specify compounds whose supplier documents compliance with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600, and pass that documentation on with the parts.

Can you make metal-detectable seals?

Metal-detectable compounds are available for some part types. Tell us at the enquiry stage and we'll confirm what is possible.

Which moulding routes do you use?

Compression, transfer and injection moulding, plus extrusion for profiles. We'll recommend the route that suits your volume and tolerances.

Next step

Send us the drawing.

With the drawing, the food and the cleaning regime, we can recommend a compound and a moulding route.
