LSR injection · LSR micro parts

LSR micro parts.

Some silicone parts weigh less than a paperclip. At that scale, handling, inspection and packing matter as much as the moulding itself.

The detail

Small parts, different problems

A micro part can be moulded perfectly and still lost, stuck together, or damaged on its way out of the tool. Tiny parts cling, static builds up, and a single stray one in the wrong tray is a real problem for a medical or hearing customer.

We plan micro jobs from the demould backwards: how parts leave the tool, how they're separated from runners, how they're counted and how they're packed so they arrive loose, clean and countable.

Where it fits

Typical micro parts

Medical seals and valves

Tiny seals, septa and valves for devices and drug delivery.

Hearing and audio parts

Small domes, grommets and tips for in-ear devices.

Electronics seals

Micro gaskets for connectors, switches and sensor housings.

How we run it

How we run micro jobs

  1. Shot and runner design

Runners kept to a minimum so material isn't wasted on parts that weigh almost nothing.

  2. Controlled demould

Parts removed without stretching or tearing, often by automated take-off.

  3. Inspection under magnification

Visual checks under magnification against agreed limit samples.

  4. Counted, separated packing

Parts packed in counted lots, in formats that stop them clumping.

A drawing or sample

Even an enlarged photo of an existing part helps.

02

Annual quantity

Micro parts are often needed in large numbers; this drives cavity count.

03

How you'll feed them

Loose in bags, on tape, in trays — tell us how your line picks them up.

04

Grade and paperwork

Medical or food-contact grade documentation if needed.

Questions

What people usually ask.

How small can you go?

It depends on the geometry more than the overall size. Send the drawing and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a job for us.

Do micro parts need special tooling?

Tools are built with finer detail and tighter venting, but they're still LSR tools. The bigger differences are in handling and inspection.
