OEM route · wearable and consumer parts

Wearable and consumer silicone.

Silicone parts for products people wear, hold, or wipe every day — ear tips, straps, grips, sleeves, applicators. Made to a colour and feel you sign off on physical samples, then held consistent across every subsequent batch.

What consumer silicone has to do

Feel right the first time, and every time after.

Sample rounds for feel and colour approval

Consumer silicone parts get judged by feel and by colour, not by specification. Your customer holds the product for the first time and either likes it or doesn't. If they like it, they judge every future product against that first impression.

That means two things for us. First, we prototype the feel with real moulded samples, not with a shore hardness datasheet number. A soft silicone in one grade doesn't feel like the same shore in another grade — we press them and let you choose by touch.

Second, we hold colour and feel consistent across every batch. Colour is matched against a physical chip you sign off, then the pigment recipe is recorded and reused. Grade and cure conditions are fixed, so batch three years from now feels exactly like batch one.

Everything from ear tips for audio brands to grip sleeves for sports and lifestyle products, silicone applicator tips for wellness brands, and soft straps for wearables sits within this capability. If it's silicone and your customer touches it, we've probably moulded something like it before.

Drill down

3 ways we run wearable and consumer parts.

Each variant has its own page with the specifics: where it fits, how we run it and what to send us.

Watch straps and bands

A strap is worn every day, against skin, through sweat and showers. It has to look good in the box and still look good a year later.

Ear tips and audio parts

Ear tips seal the ear canal, shape the sound and decide whether headphones are comfortable. They're small parts that customers notice.

Grips and handles

A good grip makes a product feel better made. Silicone gives warmth, friction and comfort, and it cleans easily.

How feel gets specified

Three ways to lock down the feel of a part.

Durometer selected on samples

Three or more grades pressed as real moulded parts. Someone in your team wears or holds them for an afternoon. Winner is fixed; loser variants get archived.

Surface finish specified in the tool

Matte, satin or gloss finish is a tool-surface decision. We spec it once, laser-etch or polish the tool to match, and the finish stays consistent for the life of the tool.

Colour matched against a physical chip

You sign off a physical silicone chip, not a Pantone number. The pigment recipe is recorded and reused for every subsequent batch.

How a consumer part comes together

From concept to shipped batch.

Consumer work is iterative. We assume you'll want a few sample rounds before the tool is cut, and we build that into the quote rather than charging for it as a change.

  1. Concept sample from your reference

You send us a competitor part, a 3D print, or a sketch. We produce a soft-tool sample in what we think is the right grade so your team can hold it.

  2. Feel and colour rounds

Multiple grades pressed, colours matched against physical chips. Iteration happens on real parts, not on drawings.

  3. Production tool cut

Once feel, colour and geometry are frozen, we cut the production tool. Finish and colour are locked into the tool spec and the material record at this point.

  4. First production run and sign-off

First batch produced. You sign off a physical golden sample which becomes the reference for every subsequent batch.

  5. Rolling programme

Ongoing batches held against the golden sample. Colour, feel and dimensions checked at first-off on every run.

To quote it

What we need on consumer enquiries.

01

A reference part or a 3D print

A physical reference beats any drawing for consumer parts. Send us the shape you're aiming at, even if it's not in the right material.

02

Brand colour and finish direction

A colour chip, a swatch, or a competitor product. We'll match against physical, not against a Pantone number in isolation.

03

Volume expectations

How many per launch, how many per year. That drives tool cavity count and route choice more than any other factor.

04

Regulatory posture

Skin contact — yes or no. Any specific standard called out. We'll use appropriately documented grades and record batches accordingly.
