Spread
A thin layer of nylon powder is spread.
Manufacturing services · Chapter F · Method 34
Inkjet heads print fusing and detailing agents onto nylon powder, then infrared energy fuses each layer. Fast and consistent for production quantities.

How it works
A labelled schematic of the process (not to scale), and the four steps every job goes through.

A thin layer of nylon powder is spread.
Fusing agent marks the part; detailing agent the edges.
Infrared lamps fuse the marked areas.
Cool the build unit; bead blast parts.
