O-rings and seals
Clean parting lines on sealing faces.
Post-processing and finishing · Cryogenic deflashing
Flash is the thin skin of material left at the parting line. Cryogenic deflashing freezes it brittle and knocks it off, leaving clean edges without hand trimming.
The detail
Hand trimming is slow and varies from operator to operator. Tumbling at room temperature can mark soft parts. Chilling parts makes the thin flash brittle while the thicker body stays tougher, so the flash breaks away cleanly.
It's well suited to O-rings, small seals and many moulded parts. It isn't right for everything — some delicate features or very soft grades need other methods — and we'll say so.
