High-volume consumer parts
Grips, caps and housings in steady large volumes.
Two-shot moulding · Rigid-soft two-shot
The rigid part and the silicone are moulded in one tool, one after the other, without ever leaving the machine. It's the most integrated way to combine hard and soft.
The detail
Overmoulding takes a finished rigid part and adds silicone in a second tool. Two-shot does both in one machine. At high volumes, that removes handling, reduces contamination risk and gives a more consistent bond.
The price is tooling complexity: two-shot tools and machines cost more, and the design must suit both materials. We usually recommend two-shot only once volumes are well established. Below that, substrate overmoulding is often more sensible.

Integrated seals on rigid device parts.
Seals formed directly on enclosure parts.

How we run it
Thermoplastic and LSR grades chosen to bond and to survive each other's process.
Rotating or transfer tool design, through our partner network where needed.
Thermal separation between the hot silicone side and the cooler plastic side.
Batch bond tests recorded.

Questions
We run it through a combination of our own capability and trusted partners, depending on the machine size needed. We'll be clear which applies to your part.
No. The plastic must tolerate silicone cure temperatures and bond to the chosen grade. We'll recommend suitable pairs.
