Multi-colour keypads
Keys in one colour, mat in another.
Two-shot moulding · Two-colour silicone
One silicone part, two colours or two hardnesses, with a clean line between them. Useful for keypads, straps, grips and seals with a soft face and a firm body.
The detail
Silicone bonds to silicone well, so combining two colours or two hardnesses in one part is very achievable. The challenge is the line where they meet: keeping it crisp, in the right place, and consistent from part to part.
Depending on the part and volume, we mould the second zone in the same tool or a second tool, or build the colour separation into compression moulding with pre-forms.
Where it fits
Keys in one colour, mat in another.
Contrasting inner and outer faces.
A soft sealing face on a firmer body.

How we run it
Where the two zones meet, designed so it can be moulded crisply.
Two-shot, two-stage or compression pre-form, based on volume.
Both colours matched and recorded.
Line position and cleanliness checked per batch.

Questions
Poorly controlled, yes. Good tool design and process control keep the line crisp.
When a single hardness forces a compromise between sealing and structure, often yes.

Rough annual volume, target unit price, and any deadlines. That's enough to work out whether compression, LSR injection or something else is the right tool.
