Compression moulding · Medical compression

Medical compression moulding.

Not every medical part needs an LSR injection tool. For early device builds, low-volume products and larger components, compression moulding in a documented medical grade is often the proportionate answer.

The detail

Proportionate tooling for medical parts

Medical device programmes often start small: clinical builds, pilot batches, niche devices with modest annual demand. Committing to a full LSR injection tool at that stage can tie up money the programme needs elsewhere.

Compression moulding in a medical-grade HCR lets you build with a documented material from the start, then move to LSR later if volume justifies it. The paperwork carries across; only the process changes. See our medical-grade manufacturing page for how we handle documentation.

Where it fits

Pilot and clinical builds

Real parts in the intended grade, without the full production tooling cost.

Low-volume devices

Specialist products where annual demand never justifies LSR tooling.

Larger components

Pads, bellows and covers too large to make sense in LSR.

How we run it

How we handle it

  1. Grade agreed and documented

Supplier, grade and data sheets recorded at the start.

  2. Batch traceability

Material batch recorded against every production batch.

  3. Clean handling and packing

Parts handled with gloves and packed in sealed bags to your specification.

  4. Change control

No grade, supplier or process change without your written agreement.

Questions

What people usually ask.

Do you hold medical device certification?

We manufacture components for device makers using documented medical-grade materials with batch traceability. The device certification itself sits with you, the manufacturer. We'll support your file with the records you need.

Can you sterilise parts?

We don't sterilise in-house. We pack to suit your sterilisation route and can work with your chosen sterilisation partner.
